Everybody has been trying to get their hands on the Stereo, a board that seems to be ticking all of the boxes for snowboarders who want a versatile true twin that they can ride the whole mountain with. "Snowboarding has become so diversified in the last ten years that it's easy to forget that although it might be nice to have a quiver of boards for every condition the mountain can throw at you, all you really need is a good all-rounder.
That's what you get with the Amplid Stereo. From the graphics to the way it rode, the Stereo was just one of those boards that all of us got along with.
The flex of the Stereo is a middle-of-the-road 5/10, and the Hybrid-V camber sections under the feet add all-important pop and edge hold to that loose and floaty rocker feel. The sidecut, flex and profile work together to create a board that really likes to be rolled between its edges; carving on the Stereo is easy and rewarding.
In the powder, subtle changes like a slightly fuller and longer nose and a mellower scoop radius add a little extra floatation, turning it from an adequate true-twin in powder into a good performer.
When we all tallied-up our score cards, it was agreed that the Stereo did such a decent job of keeping every tester happy that it deserved full marks overall."
