The Singular has become the new all-round freeride reference in the range, with its smooth, fast and ultra-precise handling. It offers total control at all speeds and on all types of snow. This shape, with its solidity and lift under the front foot, provides safety in all terrain and a wide range of versatility, from comfortable, flowing turns to dynamic control in small bends.
When you get off the slopes, you've got a powerful, precise riding machine that feels fast, a hard snow trafolle swallower. In powder, it's easy to ride, pivots well when you play with the tail, loses its slightly serious side, feels nimble, gets out of the way easily, you're well balanced and can concentrate while looking far ahead.
The Amplid Singular represents Amplid's efforts to crack the final frontier in snowboard design: the perfect all-mountain snowboard. An in-depth review of the Amplid Singular Directional snowboard for 2024-2025 – tested, tried and reviewed by the Whitelines test team. Why We Chose The Amplid Singular: They may be the masters of evidence-based, technical-as-hell board design, but the folk at Amplid still know how to make a crowd-pleaser.
Uneven Terrain: I haven’t experienced this kind of dampness for this flex before trying the Amplid Singular. It really is amazing in everything from hard to soft, uneven snow. Often times I ignore talking about tech because it’s more about how it rides, but this Antiphase tech deserves mention as it’s far from being smoke-and-mirror bullshit.
While snowboarding has its specialists – street rail riders, powder hounds and pipe dogs to name a few – the board that is best suited to 99% of the snowboarding population is the 'all-mountain', general-purpose ride that will do everything well. The problem with the mythical ‘one board for everything’ is that different terrain types, styles of riding and even snow conditions demand different board shapes and constructions to really excel, meaning many all mountain boards are decent at many things rather than great.
We really enjoyed riding this Singular, comfortable in switch with a responsive ollie pop. A snowboard that carves well, as is often the case with Amplid. A snowboard that's fun to ride, with a consistent flex that's responsive but playful without pushing you around. You'll be able to go anywhere in the resort, from the snowpark to the freeride - everything you'd expect from a versatile snowboard. The icing on the cake is the quality construction and beautiful finish.
Full-depth channels are strategically CNC-ed into the core and filled with a low-shore-hardness Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU). The TPU material has a viscoelastic behaviour, meaning it deforms under force and then returns to its original shape, but absorbs energy in the process. Our VISCO DAMP 2.0 is now extended into the tip of the board. Newly designed wave structures of the channels amplify the absorbtion effect due to the enlarged cohesion area.
Why We Chose The Amplid Singular: When a company like Amplid says it’s cracked the true all-purpose Swiss Army Knife, it’s time to sit up and pay attention. The name says it all: the Amplid Singular aims to go full Marie Kondo on your board bag. Never mind the quiver approach; just get one of these all-terrain vehicles in there, and prepare to spark a whole load of joy. This message is only slightly undermined by the fact that there are actually *two* Singulars – this one, and a true twin version.

This is the big change at Amplid for the 2022/2023 season, all the boards of the Playful All Mountain range (Paradigma, Creamer, Lovelife, Stereo, Ticket, Ticket Twin, GoGo) are disappearing to make room for the Singular project: 2 unisex boards, this Singular and its cousin Singular Twin, which only depend on the rider's size and level. Designed as a single board (aka "quiver killer") intended to succeed (how dare "replace"?) the Paradigma, this Singular is offered from 144 to 166, with honeycomb in the tip, the "Visco damp" which dampens vibrations, ultra technical fibres (glass and basalt), and a thicker "cut" construction in the tip. With a homogeneous flex, hardly stiff but which lets the tips express themselves, this board has a virile ollie and an impeccable switch mode (don't be misled visually by its tail, it's a directional twin centered).
