Whistler's Dylan Runner takes ski maintenance seriously. When his local ski tech was closed for the holidays, he took his Infrablacks to the mountain for a quick stone grind. We should probably point-out that skiing like this would probably void his warranty!
Over the last 35 years it's fair to say that Amplid's Peter Bauer has mastered the art of carving. A couple of weeks ago Peter and film maker/athlete Stefan Filzmoser were granted early access to the north face of Fiss in Austria's Tirol region to do as they pleased with thousands of acres of virgin corduroy.
Not afraid to put his mountaineering skills to use, Austrian Stefan Filzmoser, scales some the Dolomite's most spectacular peaks to access a pair of the Alps' finest couloirs. Steep, narrow and, for Stefan at least, loaded with snow, these descents look like they were worth the hours of boot packing.
Up and down the Rockies, far-flung trips to Whistler and Japan, and back to Colorado when the goods finally arrived: Amplid rider Ray McDermott's season was spent chasing the white stuff by any means possible. Watch his pow-coated highlights in Ray's 17/18 Season Edit.
Dylan Runner spends his winters launching from the biggest drops and scoring the sketchiest straight-lines possible in his winter home, Whistler, Canada. From the looks of it. there's plenty of scary terrain to choose from! Here's his season edit, be sure to catch the ender!
At the end of January, Amplid team rider Ray McDermott and a buddy jetted across the globe to Japan to enjoy everything that Japan has to offer and escape the snow-less Rockies. It's almost expected that a trip to Japan involves snorkel-deep powder, the snow conditions did not disappoint.
Amplid's latest team signing, Mario Kaeppeli, teams up with fellow Innsbruck resident Tom Tramnitz for his 16/17 season edit "Don't You Find". From splitboard accessed lines deep in Austria's backcountry to step-up double corks in Kuehtai, Mario destroys it all.
If Revelstoke wasn't on your skiing bucket list already it will be in five minutes time! Last winter, Cartel skier Jonnie Merrill upped-sticks from home in Salt Lake City to spend the cold months in Revelstoke, a mecca for any powder addicted skier or snowboarder. The footage he's pulled together proves that Jonnie is one to watch!
Amplid team rider Julien Lange just released the trailer for his up-coming movie "C'est Dans La Tête". Jam packed with Julien's usual intoxicating mix of big-mountain skiing and silky smooth freestyle trickery, C'est Dans La Tête looks like a movie that you don't want to sleep on.
It's mid-august, the hottest time of the year, and Finnish shred talent Christian Stromberg just dropped such a sizzling edit, that it might just pull Europe into another heatwave. From creative urban lines to balmy rail tricks and experimental cork spins, Christian leaves the heat!
Talented Norwegian park slayer, Mats Bjorndal, pieces together his favourite shots from the 16/17 season to create a season edit that most salaried pros would find hard to match.
Amplid Cartel skier Luka Melloni teams up with Filmer Kylian Castells for this artistic black and white edit. Luka's smooth skiing and a moody aesthetic blend perfectly and showcase the charging abilities of Luka's favourite ski, the Syntax.
Spring brings warm weather, longer days and most importantly, the annual SLVSH Cup at the Sunset Park in Peretol, Andorra! Locals Luka Melloni and Noah Albaladejo always take the opportunity to show the visiting pros how good skiers in Pyrenees are. In his first match up Amplid Cartel rider Luka Mellloni was matched against the king of butters, Magnus Graner.
Swiss shredder Luca Wasser went on a road trip east this winter taking-in a handful of Austria's best parks. Watch as Luca flows like water (see what I did there) through the features of Kaltenbach's, Planai's and Flachauwinkl's next level terrain parks.
Spring time = Kicker time! In this short POV edit Cartel rider launches some serious double corks off a backcountry booter in the Tignes backcountry. Not only do you get a rider's eye view of some insane tricks, you get a peak of the 17/18 Multiplayer too!
Cartel rider Alex Neurohr shows us what a perfect day of skiing in Switzerland looks like: Perfect runs through the forest in knee deep powder with friends, followed by Fondue and a belly full of Genepi. Anyone disagree?
Conditions in Austria's Steiermark were some of the best in the Alps in January. It's not often that the Alps this far east trump their westerly neighbours so Amplid's Sebastian Hiersche made the most of the great conditions to film some POV footage.
Young buck Andew Hoblitzelle and a crew of East Coast faces lay down some style heavy trickery in parks across the US. Andrews brother Oliver takes control of the edit: the fish-eye lens and analogue film give this edit a classic 90s skate video feel.
The Freeride World Qualifier events are a hotbed for talent. Eager to earn themselves a spot on the Freeride World Tour, the tour's qualifier events attract hundreds of ambitious skiers and snowboarders. This weekend rising star Sebastian Hiersche earned a 4th place at the Open Faces 2* event in Kappl, Austria. Here's his run.
After a two-year hiatus, Luka Melloni and Pepe Gay team up once again to drop this smooth, trance-inducing park edit. Shot around the Pyrenees.
Long time Ambush team rider Fex Althammer kicks off the new year with a soulful edit pieced together from two years of footage filmed with the Freeski-Crew.
Finnish freeski legend Kevin Salonius braves miserable November weather to bring you a short but sweet edit loaded with heaters!
In "Love from Above", a short movie by Julien Lange and Gpsy Feelin, Julien proves that an injury plagued season doesn't have to be a wasted season. Armed with his Facelift skis and with help from his crew, Julien ventured deeper into the incredible backcountry terrain surrounding Tignes to film new and challenging lines.
Jonnie Merrill shows why he's earned himself a spot on Amplid's Cartel team this winter with a season edit jam packed full of big lines, insane trickery and smooth style.
