In the first week of April I flew to Barcelona, Spain, and from there I took the bus to Andorra. I was really stoked to be in a more "exotic" place, I haven't been to one in so many years. When I arrived at Andorra I was picked-up by my buddy Borja Azurmendi wjo also happens to be one of the most talented ski movie-makers in Europe, we went straight to the Round 2 crew house and dropped-off all my bags. After that we drove around a little bit, checked out some places and then chilled for the rest of the day. The following days it was all about skiing twenty-four-seven, it was so nice! I was really stoked about being there, Andorra is a super nice place. The weather was really good for the whole time that I was there, normally the weather was full sunshine and around +20 degrees warm... like Helsinki on a summer's day.
Here are some pictures from my phone:
Andorra in full spring mode. Perfect blue skies and 20 degrees plus.
Filmer, director and photographer, Borja Azurmendi gets the scenic shots.
Not "just" a Volvo 850... this is the Round 2 Car. Some home comforts for the Scandinavian visitor.
The "Sunset Park" at Peretol opens at 17:00 daily and shuts at 22:00 perfect for afterwork shred sessions. For Kevin it's short vertical and feature packed slopes reminded him of his home resort Serena in Finland.
The SLVSH crew filming an episode of the S.K.A.T.E-esq game with Amplid team riders Luka Melloni and Noah Albaladejo
The Vallnord park in all of its Spring glory. Kevin and the crew spent a number of days here sessioning the "many rails and great jumps".
The Total Fight contest slopestyle course in Grandvalira a fun contest with a increasingly impressive list of International pros.
Visiting riders and the locals are spoiled with three great parks, but Grandvalira isn't just about man made transitions. Kevin got to ride this cool natural halfpipe during his trip.
And from these views it's probably safe to say that there's plenty of world-class freeriding on offer.
Although McRae Williams no longer represents Amplid he's still part of the family when he visits Andorra for the Total Fight. After a hard fought contest he takes a Siesta.
Kevin and Borja finished the trip with a visit to Barcelona's beaches. In Kevin's words "I haven't been to a beach or seen palm trees in many years. So I was really stoked to go here!"
