Rodo Qualifies For FWT 2014

It’s been a week of cabin fever for the Freeride World Tour competitors in Fieberbrunn, Austria. Although the weather was glorious for the scheduled Saturday of the event, a baked and weak snowpack due to the spring conditions meant the Avalanche danger was too high and the contest had to be postponed. Eventually last Saturday the competition took place in glorious sunshine with 20cm of fresh on refrozen ice and Cartel rider John Rodosky got to show his metal. A lot was hanging on John’s Fieberbrunn result: Only the top 5 would advance to the final event in Verbier and only the top 7 snowboarders would qualify for next winter’s tour. Going into Fieberbrunn John was sat in 8th just beneath the bubble in need of some valuable points. A solid and safe ride with a smooth double drop and styled pow turns put John into 7th for the season, not enough to ride in Verbier but a secured spot for next winter’s tour. Congrats John!
