Every Friday we ask a member of the Amplid Cartel team to tell us about five of their favorites. From five must have tricks you need in your repertoire to the five albums that are rocking their headphones every time they destroy the park. Weekly we’re bringing you closer to the Amplid Cartel.
This week SLC resident, Park City local and balaclava wearing style master Steve Stepp ticks off five tricks in his enormous bag that get him stoked. In Steve’s own words “If you’re not doing your favorite tricks, then you’re not having fun”.
Lincoln Loops – This was the second invert I learned. Two seasons ago I logged over 100 in a single day.
Cork 540 – Just a slight variation of the Lincoln loop… add a 180. This trick is fun because you can literally do it in ten different ways. That makes the trick endlessly fun.
Switch 540 – Once again, this trick can be done 100 different ways and with every single grab. To me, it’s the trick to practice new grabs with.
Rodeos – I personally think it’s the most floatable trick. Once you set it, just forget it….then float 90 feet to the bottom.
Cork 9s – It’s great because you start forward, and land switch. I love tricks that land switch because I can look for the landing early, then twist my body with my eyes glued on the landing.
