The Nomads is the ultimate shred hostel. In 2014, with the help of a successful crowd funding campaign, owners Tim and Val started converting an old US School Bus into a hotel on wheels. Now almost four years later, the bus spends its winters chasing fresh snowfalls in mountain ranges throughout Europe with up to six guests in-tow. This spring, from the end of February until the middle of May, the Nomads bus will be based in the Arctic Circle, accommodating avid ski-tourers and splitboarders. The bus is now equipped with a fleet of Amplid touring skis and splitboards.
Amplid's Peter Bauer chats with Blister Review's Jonathan Ellsworth to talk about snowboarding, how he discovered the sport, its culture and what contributed to the sport's meteoric boom in late 80ies and 90ies. A real insight into the history of the sport and why being "anti" skiing was essential to its growth.
Late spring is the perfect time to explore the incredible mountains of the Lyngen Alps. Towering above the Fjords which separate them, these Norwegian gems hold great snow until early summer, and the long days of the Arctic Circle’s summer make them the perfect place to splitboard. Amplid friend Juergen Haider is leading an expedition to the Lyngen in late April and there are still a handful of spots available.
It's that time of year again... you know, when the internet reduces all the gear that won't sell to rock bottom prices! This year Amplid is doing things a little differently. This weekend the Test To Believe Tour is at the Kaunertal Glacier in Austria's Tirol region. The snow on the glacier is in prime condition after some great early season snowfalls and with the terrain park already in operation, Kaunertal is a great place to demo every type of ski and snowboard, from park cruisers to backcountry missiles.
It's been a long four years since California had a winter worth shouting about. Friends of Amplid, Buell Steelman and Henning Schwalbe, have been making the most of the great conditions on their Amplid shreds.

If there's anything that will void your Amplid product's warranty, it's riding down an active volcano. Thrill-seeker Keow wee Loong doesn't care though. Equiped with a gas mask and an UNW8, Keow scaled to the heights of Mt Bromo in Indonesia and got radical.
Between January the 29th and the 31st Amplid hosted the Blank Plank Weekender at the Backyard in the Zillertal Valley, Austria. The weekend was an opportunity for powder addicts and wannabe shapers to design and shape their dream powder shred from Amplid's Blank Plank products.

Other commitments and illness meant that Amplid was unable to attend this years Vintage Snowboard Days event. The event, which was held last weekend at the Living Room at Hochkoenig, drew together a big crowd of legends, oldies and young rippers for a banked slalom event to remember.
We've teamed-up with The Freeride Center Stubai, where you can now rent an Amplid Morning Split for the bargain price of 35 Euros a day. Pre-season on Europe's glaciers can be unpredictable. You might be greated with epic storms and 100mph winds, or you could luck-out and have warm sunny weather and mild temperatures. Fortunately for the Amplid demo tour "Enjoy the Glacier" event at Les Deux Alpes was blessed with the latter. Hundreds of testers flocked to the event and many of them stepped on an Amplid deck for the first time.
This weekend, October the 25th and 26th, Amplid will be at the "Enjoy The Glacier" event on the Les Deux Alpes glacier in France. So if you're in the area, get yourself and your buddies up to L2A and make use of the 23Eur ski pass and Amplid's free to use demo fleet.
While the UK is being battered by the remnants of Hurricane Gonzalo (quite possibly the coolest name for a Hurricane yet), and the majority of the Northern Hemisphere's population sob and moan about the increasingly cold weather, we snowboarders and skiers have something to be happy about. There's snow on the horizon... tons of the stuff!
Last weekend the Amplid Demo Tour was at Hintertux glacier for the official kick-off of the European Snowboard Calendar, the Hotzone Park Opening. This coming weekend the Demo Tour will be at the Kaunertal Glacier for the legendary KTO with a vast selection of skis and boards for you to try.
